The Alfa Romeo Montreal is a 2+2 coupé automobile produced by the Italian manufacturer Alfa Romeo from 1970 to 1977.
The Alfa Romeo Montreal was introduced as a concept car in 1967 at Expo 67, held in Montreal, Canada, and was named after that city. It was a 2+2 coupe using the 1600 cc engine of the Alfa Romeo Giulia Ti and the chassis of the Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint GT, with a body designed by Marcello Gandini at Bertone.

The Montreal remained generally unchanged until it was discontinued in 1977. By then, production had long ceased already; as Alfa were struggling to sell their remaining stock. Total number built was 3917; none of them were sold in Montreal, Quebec since Alfa did not develop a North American version to meet the US/Canadian emission control requirements

The Montreal was powered by a 200bhp, fuel injected V8 engine which had four camshafts and measured 2593cc. The powerful engine could propel the Montreal to speeds approaching 140mph

Alfa Romeo 8C 2300 belongs among the most exclusive circle. Alfa’s first eight-cylinder (8C) production car evolved from the hugely successful inline-six-cylinder models preceding it.The 8C chassis was, by comparison, relatively simple but also beautifully constructed by artisans and craftsmen who were proud of their work and endeavored to give each detail a fine finish and pleasing mechanical function. Even minor functional details like the hood latches, where a simple spring and hook sufficed for other constructors, on the Alfa 8C were intricate little geared constructions.

This car sold at the Bonhams & Brooks Silverstone auction, held August 25, 2001, for a price of $1,530,720, including buyer’s premium.

The 8C 2300 ceased production in 1934, but Jano’s brilliant design was the basis for larger-displacement eight-cylinder Alfas up to World War II.
